Transforming Procurement Processes in the Food Industry

CLIENT 

Our team provided commissioning and implementation of a leading S2P platform and post implementation support for an American agricultural multinational corporation. This client is a world leader in growing, sourcing, distributing and marketing fruit, vegetables and healthy snacks with manufacturing hubs in the Philippines, Thailand and the United States.  

PROBLEM STATEMENT 

  • Highly manual and fragmented business processes 

  • Lack of standardization among geographically dispersed teams 

  • Changes in processes post-implementation necessitated adjustments in workflows 

  • Lack of integration with ERP, requiring subsequent modifications in the Ivalua system 

  • Challenges with adoption due to frequent changes in team  

  • Language barriers in Thailand and the Philippines 

SCOPE 

The scope of the project encompasses the implementation of the S2P platform’s Supplier, Sourcing, Contracts, and Requisition modules, and integration with the ERP solution. The implementation was carried out in a phased approach, commencing in the APAC region and gradually extending to cover operations in the Americas 

The project included the provision of maintenance and support services across all global client locations to ensure continued smooth functioning of the implemented modules. Additionally, sourcing support is being offered, which includes assistance with RFPs and auctions for the user team, aimed at optimizing procurement processes and facilitating efficient sourcing activities. 

RESULT 

  • Enhanced process efficiency reduced sourcing cycle time from 45 to 15 days 

  • Improved supplier collaboration with up-to-date supplier information visibility 

  • Ensured master data management compliance across all plants 

  • Provided upgraded maintenance support to client teams in the Philippines and Thailand, offering buyer assistance 

  • Conducted extended training sessions for new buyers and on-demand training for new functionalities, including sessions in local languages 

  • Offered functional, configuration, and testing support during integration 

  • Managed new configurations/ reporting/enhancements and testing for live modules. 

  • Conducted scheduled version upgrades to ensure system optimization. 

  • Conducted gap analysis to address new requirements and establish a future roadmap.
